Ulster Bank Delivers Again with the Best Student Package in Town!As the start of the new college year fast approaches, Ulster Bank has today launched its 2008 student package - the most attractive and competitive on the Irish market. Given the huge success of the €100 cash incentive last year, Ulster Bank has decided to bring it back this year - again giving students what they really want. The offer is available from now until 31 October 2008 and is available to all students, not just freshers.

Students won't regret switching to or opening an Ulster Bank student account, the first bank to offer students from first year to final year a cash incentive for opening a student account. The package also includes a €650 interest free overdraft option which can also be applied for online with our new facility. Ulster Bank have forged relationships with more third party suppliers this year meaning that new student customers may now avail of even more fantastic offers and discounts.

Commenting on the announcement, Samantha Gregan, Marketing Manager - Student & Graduate Segments at Ulster Bank said: "With the recent release of the Leaving Certificate results and CAO offers, students from all around the country are turning their thoughts to the coming academic year and once again Ulster Bank is providing a real incentive for students to sign up with us."

"Today's students face a whole array of financial challenges and we at Ulster Bank feel that our student package, with its €100 cash incentive, €650 interest free overdraft facility and our new online account application facility will help meet these challenges. Ulster Bank is giving students what they really want - simple, efficient and competitive banking, tailored to the reality of student living," she continued.

President of USI Ireland, Shane Kelly said "Managing your finances is one of the most important things for students to do. This can sometimes be difficult, so it is important to have a good relationship with your bank and seek out advice if you are finding budgeting difficult."

Proving their innovation in the youth market once again, Ulster Bank have also teamed up with Social Networking giant, Bebo, and will have a dedicated Ulster Bank student profile on Bebo which will launch in September.

Ulster Bank is also delighted to be the first to offer online student account application - an easy way for students to apply for their account if they don't have time to visit their branch. All students who open and use their account will get €100.

The €100 will be lodged into new student accounts in two separate instalments over a five month period. Students will receive the first instalment of €50 in November 2008 and then again in January 2009.*

Ulster Bank has student officers in all of its branches throughout Ireland, who are available to discuss the specific needs of students - particularly those preparing for college for the first time.
