Ulster bank opens three new branches as part of its expansion plans
18th August 2008
Ulster Bank will open three new branches and business banking offices across the country this month in Sandyford, Dublin, Loughrea, Co Galway and Wicklow Town and will create approximately 24 news jobs. The outlets will provide retail and business banking services to customers in each of these locations and the surrounding areas.
Commenting on the openings, Richard Donnan, Managing Director, Ulster Bank Personal Banking said: "While other banks are closing branches, we are continuing to invest heavily in our branch and business centre network throughout Ireland. Notwithstanding the current challenging market conditions, Ulster Bank is very much open for business and these latest openings demonstrate our growth ambition and confidence in the future."
He added: "We are delighted to be opening the doors of three new premises this month, bringing the Ulster Bank offering to even more local communities and it is another step on our journey to become the number one bank on the island of Ireland. We guarantee all customers a warm welcome and professional advice for all their individual financial needs."
The three new outlets are the most recent in a series of openings bringing the total to 12 new branches and business centres in the past 18 months. Ulster Bank has been increasing its presence in Dublin over the past two months, opening new premises in Inchicore and George's Quay. The new openings will bring the number of Ulster Bank branches on the Island of Ireland to 227.
