Winners of the Ulster Bank, Hilary Haydon & Lavelle Coleman Bursary For Community Pharmacy Are Announced

At a ceremony held today, 28 September, at University College Cork, the winners of the Ulster Bank, Hilary Haydon & Lavelle Coleman Bursary for Community Pharmacy in Pharmacy Management were announced.

Diarmuid Coughlan of UCC (from Co.Waterford) and Noel Stenson of RCSI (from Achill, Co Mayo) were awarded the Practice of Pharmacy Research Bursary, the aim of which is to support practice-based research in Community Pharmacy. Judged on the viability of the project and the development of a strong business plan; each of the winners will receive €15,000 to progress their relevant projects.

On hand to congratulate the winners was Declan Daly, Senior Manager, Ulster Bank North Cork Business Centre who said; "I am delighted to be here today to celebrate with Diarmuid and Noel on the award of this bursary. The bursary highlights Ulster Bank's long established relationship with the Pharmacy sector in Ireland."

He added; "Along with our co-sponsors Hilary Haydon and Lavelle Coleman we recognise the importance of the Irish Pharmacy Education System and the support needed to generate ongoing innovation in the Community Pharmacy Sector."
