Ulster Bank has today announced details of its new student package, which, for the first time in Irish student banking, will see students who set up an Ulster Bank student account receive €100 in cash* over a 5 month period. This market-leading move forms part of Ulster Bank's new student package, which represents the most competitive and attractive banking proposition available to Irish students today.
Ulster Bank's new student package offers the following:
- €100 cash when you open and use your account
- €650 interest free overdraft
- Commission free foreign exchange available on branch-based transactions
- 10% discount on books through Waterstones
- 40% off bill pay phones or €10 off Pay As You Go phones at the Carphone Warehouse
- 25% discount off Skype handsets
Commenting on the announcement, Samantha Gregan, Marketing Manager - Student & Graduate Segments at Ulster Bank said: "This is a major move for student banking in Ireland. Until now, banks have tempted students with restrictive deals, giving away free gifts and services which were attractive to some students but were of no interest to others."

The €100 will be lodged into new student accounts in two separate instalments. Students will receive the first instalment of €50 in November and then again in January just in time to ease those winter blues!
