Ulster Bank opens three new branches as part of its expansion plans
16th December 2007
Ulster Bank will open three new branches and business banking offices across the country this week in Finglas, Co. Dublin; Newcastle West, Co. Limerick and Briarhill, Co. Galway. The outlets will provide retail and business banking services to customers in each of these locations and the surrounding areas.
These new outlets are the most recent in a series of openings which form part of Ulster Bank's €73million investment into the expansion and development of its branch network. They follow on from the opening of three new premises in the Munster region over the past three months and will bring the total number of Ulster Bank branches on the Island of Ireland to 222.
Commenting on the expansion, Mike Bamber, Chief Executive, Ulster Bank Retail Markets said; "We are delighted to be opening the doors of three new branches this week. These openings highlight our ongoing commitment, not only to upgrading existing premises, but to expanding our network throughout Ireland. Our branch expansion programme comes as many other banks are closing branches throughout Ireland and illustrates Ulster Bank's commitment to bring its offering to all regions across the country and to become the number one bank on the Island of Ireland."
He added, "These outlets also bring Ulster Bank's award winning business banking service to further communities across Ireland which represents our ongoing commitment to supporting and inspiring Irish business. I wish all the teams the best of luck, I know they are looking forward to welcoming local residents and businesses and introducing them to the wide range of innovative products and services we have to offer."
Ulster Bank plans to continue its expansion programme into 2008 with new branches scheduled to open in Loughrea, Co. Galway and Sandyford and Georges Quay in Dublin.
