In 2008 Ulster Bank became an official sponsor of the GAA Football All Ireland Senior Championship. The GAA is (Gaelic Athletic Association) is one of the most coveted sports sponsorships in Ireland. As we celebrate our three-year extended sponsorship of the GAA Football Championship, we launched a major new club focused initiative, called 'Ulster Bank GAA Force'. The initiative will support local GAA clubs across the country by giving them the opportunity to refurbish and upgrade their facilities. One lucky GAA club will be awarded a top prize, including support worth €25,000/£22,000, while four runners-up (one from each province) will receive a support package worth €5,000/£4,400. As well as offering financial support, the Ulster Bank GAA Force initiative aims to show the power of team spirit by bringing local communities together over the October bank holiday weekend to carry out improvements to their GAA club facilities. Helpful downloadable tools and guidance on how to build a team of helpers for each club are available on The 16th Man, the Ulster Bank GAA website.

Ulster Bank Off the Ball roadshows
For the third year running, Ulster Bank teamed up with Newstalk 106-108fm to take the popular sports programme on a tour across the country, where rival Ulster Bank GAA stars have featured in live shows in Kerry, Cork, Donegal, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Roscommon and Dublin, throughout the summer.

These events give people an opportunity to see the hit show broadcast live from popular GAA haunts across the country throughout the 2011 All-Ireland Senior Championships
